Two CASG Students Won First Prize in The Great Debaters' Speech Contest
On 10 January 2021, we received notification from the organising committee of "The Great Debaters'
speech contest, which was based on the theme of "Rights of a Child". Canada After School Group (CASG)
students Felix Wang and Dylan Zhang won the first prize in the competition (there were only four first prizes) and Jet Jie won the second prize.
CASG also won the "School Sweepstakes Winner" award from the organizing committee. Congratulations to the winners and we hope that they will continue to do well in the future!
The Great Debaters speech contest was held in the context of the 66th World Children's Day celebrations on 20 November 2020. The theme of the competition was "Rights of a Child" and participants from all over the world were given the opportunity to choose from the UN's "Ten Rights of a Child", with the aim of promoting global solidarity and the well-being of children.
The competition attracted nearly 100 participants from around the world. The participants expressed
their views in an articulate and well-reasoned manner. To ensure that the results were fair and effective, each video was scored by three judges, each of whom judged the video on three dimensions persuasiveness, body language ability and vocal ability, and the final ranking of the participants was calculated. For each entry, the judges gave detailed comments on what the judges recognized about the
entry and what the participants could do to improve.
Take a look at the outstanding performance of two winning entries!
